Excavation and Trench Safety
In the United States more than 800 construction workers die every year while on the job. One of the most dangerous types of work is trenching, which kills 40 construction workers every year. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Excavation standards, 29 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 1926, Subpart P, contain requirements for excavation and trenching operations. This training highlights key elements of the standards and describes safe work practices that can protect workers from cave-ins and other hazards.
Participating in ASTM | The How & Why
ACPA has been urging its members to get involved with the ASTM process. Past Webinars have focused on how to join ASTM. This Webinar will discuss why the ASTM process is so important to our industry, and how you can play a part in it.

Post-Installation Inspection of Storm Sewer Pipes and Culverts
Buried pipelines are a long-term investment and their effective service life can be ensured with quality installations. With limited budgets for regular onsite soil testing and construction observation, one of the best ways to verify satisfactory pipeline installation is through post-installation inspection (PII). PII provides value and confidence to engineers, owners, and the traveling public that underground infrastructure will meet the intended service life, similar to a home inspection prior to a real estate purchase. With how much is being invested in infrastructure, it’s important to use PII to protect these investments. This course will overview common post-installation inspection methods, categories of possible defects to watch for, and applicable standards for evaluation criteria.
Quality School
The ACPA's Quality School is an educational program offered to anyone interested in learning about production and quality practices of the concrete and precast industry. The school provides knowledge, training, and learning tools to students and the curriculum is focused on quality control and production practices typical for a concrete pipe and/or precast plant, and also satisfies DOT and/or QCast plant certification requirements.
P3 Training
Learn the fundamentals of concrete pipe while gaining a better understand of the manufacturing, installation, and inspection process by taking the ACPA’s online 4 day P3 course. Consisting of three different modules spread out over four weeks, P3 empowers students with the ability to raise awareness about concrete pipe and precast to positively help influence the pipe selection process.
**Available only to ACPA Members.**
Concrete Pipe Week 2023
Concrete Pipe Week recognizes the significance that the reinforced concrete pipe and precast industry has in community quality of life, and affirms the contributions of the concrete pipe and precast industry to each State and Province. Concrete Pipe Week is a time to recognize the contributions of ACPA’s partners: Public Work agencies, DOTs, engineering companies, associate members, steel producers, form producers, casting producers, the trucking industry, sand and rock producers, cement producers, contractors, academia, and everyone associated with the buried infrastructure industry and the products this industry requires.
Committee Days 2023
