Biography

Margarita Takou, Ph.D., P.E., ENV SP is currently based in Irving, Texas.  She has worked for the ACPA since September of 2016.  Margarita earned a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in civil engineering from the National Technical University of Athens. In 2016 she received her Doctor of Philosophy degree in structural engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Margarita is the Vice President of the ACPA Research and Education Foundation, and the ACPA's Technical Resources Manager. She works with members and engineers on any technical items related to concrete pipe and boxes. She manages the QCast Program and is also a committee staff liaison between the Research, Quality, and Safety Committees. 

"Contributing to society with continuous improvement in every aspect related to production and design of precast culvert products which are an integral part of every city, small town, and suburban area. The footprint and impact of our work in the concrete pipe industry are literally reflected around the globe and I feel very inspired to keep contributing to the improvement of our industry. I am also inspired by the people I work with. There is a lot of support and space for young professionals to grow in the industry." 

Fun Fact: She loves traveling, reading, and spending time with her husband and kids. She enjoys being outdoors as well, she is jogging, biking, or exploring trails with her little son.
